How did you feel reading the title of this post?

Did you feel assured? Excited? Confident? Unsure? Unsteady? Nervous?

No matter what's come up for you, it's so important to know who you are because that sets the tone for all of the decisions you will make in your life.

I remember when I didn't know who I was.. As a little girl, I get just brief flashes of my personality where I remember being full of life, talkative (lol), always singing and dancing..

But as I got older into my teenage and young adult years, I lost a piece of myself through trying to be accepted by everyone else and not be perceived as “different”

But.. I AM Different.. I always have been and I finally learned how to embrace that as best as I can.

I still have my moments where I need God's reassurance and where I need redirection to not seek validation and acceptance from others, but overall, I've made such great progress.

Little Dominique would be so pleased and surprised to know that she grew to make God the center of her life, married the man of her dreams that she was never expecting, and become a Christian Therapist & Coach running her own businesses..

I want to encourage you that your past insecurities doesn't dictate your future possibilities and reality..

You can choose to live and grow in those insecurities, OR choose a different path.. The ordained path that God has for you..

He doesn't define you by your experiences, but He's set you apart and allowed you to be born into this time period because...

YOU HAVE PURPOSE. YOU HAVE A DESTINY.

I'm learning to live out of the image God created and not how others see me..

I'm choosing to live intentionally for His glory and to help encourage those He places in my path..

And through all of this, I know who I am.

How will you discover and embrace your identity today?

Reflect on this and feel free to share your comments below

God Bless You Immensely,

Your Sister in Christ,

Dominique S. Russell, LCPC
